Each Lenzetto spray delivers 1.53mg of oestradiol, but only a portion of that is absorbed into the bloodstream. The absorption rate is lower and more variable than gels or patches. Because of this, the maximum licensed dose is three sprays per day, which is roughly equivalent to a 50mcg patch or two pumps of Oestrogel. Higher doses aren’t currently licensed with Lenzetto, even though some women may need more oestrogen to manage symptoms. This is partly due to how the spray interacts with skin and how consistently it’s absorbed - which can vary based on skin thickness, hydration, and application technique.

Please help as I am very confused. I have been on 4 pumps of oestrogel daily due to some osteoporosis in my lower spine and my menopause doctor in the Uk was very happy with my oestrogen levels. I moved to Mallorca earlier in the year and Oestrogel is no longer available to me. I have found a doctor who wants me to switch to Lenzetto. She has told me that one pump of Lenzetto is equivalent to 2 pumps of oestrogel. In view of the fact that I have some osteoporosis it is critical to me to keep my oestrogen levels at the optimal level and I don't think she is correct in her interpretation of the doses. Would you be kind enough to let me know what dose of Lenzetto I should be on if I am currently on 4 pumps of Oestrogel? With many thanks, Alison
